What to Share

Send enough context to open the right conversation.

A short, non-confidential note is enough for government conversations, contributor interest, solution review, research collaboration, advisory support or media queries.

Useful context

Help us understand the pathway and the possible next step.

Introduce who you are, what you are working on and why you want to speak with The Governance Initiative.

For any enquiry

Name, organisation, role, broad problem area, geography at a non-sensitive level and the kind of conversation you want.

For solution review

Share the problem addressed, evidence summary, adoption conditions, where it has worked, known limits and a responsible contact.

For contributors

Share your experience area, role, broad geography, type of learning you can contribute and whether you prefer public or private follow-up.

Keep the first note non-confidential.

Please do not send operational logs, confidential government documents, personal records, identifiable citizen information, passwords, procurement material or politically sensitive details in an introductory message.

How TGI uses the note

TGI uses introductory messages to understand the enquiry, decide whether to follow up and prepare a focused discussion.

Before anything is shared

Material is not made public unless consent, attribution, evidence and sensitivity have been reviewed.

How enquiries move

Every enquiry needs a clear next step.

TGI directs serious interest to the right conversation and asks for deeper detail only when it is useful and appropriate.

01

Choose the pathway

Identify the broad fit: government conversation, funder briefing, practitioner interest, solution review, academic collaboration, advisory interest or media query.

02

Check fit

TGI checks whether the enquiry is relevant and whether any sensitive detail should move to a more appropriate channel.

03

Direct it internally

The note goes to the person best placed to assess the conversation.

04

Agree the next step

The next action may be a response, a private follow-up, a curation conversation, a deferral or a polite decline.

Gov Collective contributions

Useful knowledge needs evidence, context and consent.

Playbooks, solution pathways, requests, profiles, learning capsules and downloadable notes are reviewed before they are shared.

Evidence

Separate observation, assumption, claim and verified result.

Conditions

Describe where an approach may work, where it may not work and what institutional conditions matter.

Attribution

Contributor names, organisations and partner references appear only after explicit confirmation.

Before sharing

Shared knowledge needs consent, evidence and context.

TGI treats public knowledge as a deliberate editorial decision, not the automatic result of receiving a message.

Consent and attribution

Confirm who may be named, what organisation may be referenced and whether the contributor wants public, private or anonymous handling.

Evidence and limits

Record the evidence level, source material, failure modes and adoption conditions before converting a contribution into a case or pathway.

Sensitivity review

Remove restricted details, non-public state or partner details and any material that could identify citizens, frontline workers or confidential operations.
